India today is one of the few countries of the world where the cultural diversity and rich historical heritage is still vibrant and alive. Whenever we think of India Immediately a picture of colour and flamboyance of arts and crafts and music comes to one’s mind. Each of the 28 states and 7 union territories of India have their own language , a unique traditional dress,a flamboyant dance form , unique culinary tradition and also astonishingly beautiful handicraft traditions.
However in the past few decades, modernization and industrial development have had a ruinous effect on the great heritage of the handloom and handicraft sector. Everything that can be made by hand can be made by machine in cheaper and faster way, as a result Indian weavers and handicrafts men are getting impoverished and leaving traditional skills to become industrial labour.
It is our mission to save the dying arts and craftsmanship of India by bringing their products to the international market and to get them the value they deserve for their talent and hard work.
For this we are collaborating with many Indian designers who through their work are also engaged in trying to preserve the unique Indian heritage of hand embroidery embellishments and intricate weaving styles.
